The 2021 application period for grants from the Sakari Alhopuro Foundation is 1–28 February 2021

The grants awarded by the Sakari Alhopuro Foundation in 2021 will be allocated to research that advances medical science and multidisciplinary environmental studies, biodiversity and environmental protection.
The Foundation awards grants to researchers who have completed a doctorate in medicine or the natural sciences as a means of providing them with the opportunity to continue to pursue high-level research.
The application period opens on 1 February and ends on 28 February 2021. The application is completed using the Foundation’s online grant application service. Simply log in using the link found on the Foundation’s website. The application criteria and detailed application instructions can be found on our website as well.
Researchers can apply for projectgrants, personal research work grants or both at the same time. The total sum of the grants can be a maximum of EUR 60,000.
As part of the process of assessing research projects, focus will be placed on the research topic and plan, as well as on past research and the researcher’s possibilities to conduct the research.
Grant applicants will be notified of the decision by e-mail. The names of the grant recipients will be published no later than 31 May 2021 on the Foundation’s website.

The purpose of the Sakari Alhopuro Foundation is to support and promote high-quality medical research, biodiversity, entrepreneurship as well as cultural and social well-being in Finland. The Board of the Foundation decides on the annual target areas for upcoming grant applications. The areas are stated on the Foundation’s website.
